We cordially invite you to the Youth Mental Health Conference. This event is intended for youth, youth workers and anyone interested in the topic of wellbeing.
Come discuss current topics of mental health, LGBTQ, stress management, and healthy habits with professionals from the fields of psychology, coaching, mindfulness, and yoga.
The program will include both a moderated panel discussion with invited experts and roundtable meetings , the concept of which allows for a deeper and more detailed immersion into individual topics.

Standing out

Jana Kyriakou
Jana is an internationally certified and experienced mindfulness and yoga teacher with specialized training in the development of mindfulness in education, trauma-informed care, mindfulness and yogic approaches to working with stress, anxiety and eating disorders. She has been leading courses and workshops for adults, children and youth; individuals, groups, schools and companies for more than 25 years. She has experience from national and European research and educational projects in the field of social-emotional learning and mental health. She is the founder of the organization SEMwell, which brings programs of social-emotional development and learning and support of wellbeing based on mindfulness to schools, kindergartens, youth organizations and companies.

RNDr. Michal Pitoňák, Ph.D.
Michal Pitoňák is the head of the Mental and Public Health of Sexually and Gender Diverse People working group at the National Institute of Mental Health, the president of the professional society Queer Geography and recently also an assistant professor at the Department of Sociology, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Charles University. He also works as a researcher at the Faculty of Education, Charles University and teaches part-time at the Faculty of Humanities, Charles University, where he received his doctorate in social geography and regional development for the first dissertation in the field of queer geography in the Czech Republic. His interdisciplinary research focuses on the social status of sexually and gender diverse (SGR) people, hetero- and cis-normativity and minority stress. He gained international experience at the University of Sheffield, Dartmouth College and Stockholm University. Dr. Pitoňák received the Prof. PhDr. Václav Příhoda Award for the best graduates of Charles University and the Award for Emerging Scientists from the European Association of Public Health. He has published many studies in the field of SGR mental health, minority stress, geography of sexuality, or in the field of LGBTQ+ sociology and activism, and has collaborated on a number of publications with foreign experts. He is actively involved in policymaking, for example as a member of the government Committee for the Rights of LGBTI+ people or the coordination working group of the National HIV/AIDS Program.

Ing. Marek Vich, Ph.D.
Marek is a senior mindfulness lecturer, therapist, university teacher and self-defense instructor. His mission is to help people find and develop strength and peace in their lives. As a lecturer, he specializes in self-kindness, inner child care and anxiety reduction. He teaches at the private Ambis University, where he is in charge of several psychology subjects - mainly motivation & self-management and managerial psychology. He is the founder of the Mindfulness Club and co-creator of TeďCast - a podcast about mental health. He is also currently an instructor of the Israeli self-defense and survival system KALAH, which helps him deepen his knowledge of working with stress and difficult emotions, and teaches him that true self-kindness is about the balance between softness and hardness.

Mgr. and Mgr. Adam Táborský, Ph.D.
Adam is a psychologist and psychotherapist. He founded the project Therapy Among the Trees, where he connects nature and mental health. He has experience from the Psychiatric Hospital, where he worked in the inpatient unit for personality disorders and where he still serves at the Crisis Intervention Center. Within the Tulsia Psychosomatic Clinic, he works with clients with predominantly psychosomatic problems. He wrote the book Therapy Among the Trees and regularly contributes to the magazine Psychology Today.

Mgr. Petra Nedbalkova
Petra is a certified mentor, lecturer and coach who specializes in holistic consultations and workshops with an emphasis on a strong spiritual dimension. Her approach is highly individualized, as she believes that each person is unique and needs something different.
Through her cooperation with the Summer Entrepreneurial Camp and participation in Regional Entrepreneurial Camps, she got to work with young people from orphanages, socially disadvantaged families, and foster families. Together with these young people, she learns from each other, and this journey gives her deep meaning.

Robin Kubinu
Robin (he/him) is a university student and in his free time he works in the Queer & Trans Youth CZ project, which aims to create a safe place for LGBTQ+ teenagers. From his own experience, he knows what problems LGBTQ+ teenagers can face and how these problems can affect their mental health, and therefore wants to raise awareness about the topic of mental wellbeing among LGBTQ+ people.

Msc. Tereza Hausmanová
Tereza is a project manager at SEMwell and a certified yoga instructor. Her mission is to contribute to the mental and physical health of clients through yoga, mindfulness, and other therapeutic methods, so that they can feel deep peace, relaxation, and inner security. So that they can also touch their wholeness on the mat and live it as much as possible in everyday life.
Tereza has experience in leading office yoga, weekend stays for stress reduction and has been dedicated to the topic of mental health, well-being, stress management and yoga for better digestion for a long time. She is currently completing psychotherapy training from Process-oriented psychology. She is also a co-creator of the Mindfulness Club, an organization that aims to spread proven mindfulness methods.
The conference is part of Erasmus+ projects (BENEFIT and Safe Space 4 Youth) focused on wellbeing and mental health of youth. The projects are co-financed by the EU (from Erasmus+ funds) and therefore admission is FREE.
At the end of the conference, we will ask you to fill out a feedback questionnaire.
Light refreshments will be served during the conference.
